True Blood - *Spoiler Alert*

Recommended Posts

I'm about 3/4 of the way through and trying to save the rest for later as a reward for shoe shopping with all four girls

I could still slap Sookie for being so silly at times  Eric is very sweet in it though, all blokes should be like Eric, he's perfect

Well I finished it last night. I can't say it's one of my favourite of the books, book 4 securely holds that title without a shadow of a doubt! It just didn't feel right, I can't really explain the feeling I got from it. It was lacking in warmth. It felt empty. Sam didn't sound like Sam. Pam wasn't as funny, neither was Eric although he didn't have a lot to laugh about. The Faeries are just annoying me now, I prefer vampire politics and relationships. Hunter was in it and I liked that bit.

Oh well, only another year to wait for book 11

My chum Mindy is borrowing this book tomorrow but who wants it after that?

I just thought y'all might like to know something about Sookie that certainly isn't clear from the telly series but is from the books: when she says she's a size 10 on a good day and a size 12 on a bad one these are American sizes. Our Sookie is a size 14-16 in real English. Made me feel lots better when i realised that, girls with curves are officially vamp-a-licious!

Sorry,but not quite............

US sizes are 1 down from ours, which makes her a 12-14

Still nice & curvy, but not as bootylicious as most of us over here :lol::lol::lol:

sorry, but you're not quite right there, Cinnamon.

I've just come back from the States and the conversion guides, my experience (and all the clothes i bought over there!:lol: ) show a 4 size difference: an American 10 is a British 14 and a Yank 12 is a 16.

That's why they go on about 'size zero' so much, it equates to a British size 4.

It actually differs from state to state,to make things even more complicated.

I used to work in a frock shop,so have a bit of first hand experience selling to American customers.....they certainly didn't like having to 'size up' as it were (& who can blame them!)

The more modern areas have a 2 size difference,so a 0 is a 4,a 12 a 16 & so forth

But the less progressive states, including much of the deep south, where Sookie comes from, make their clothes bigger,so its a 1 size difference,on average.

Thats why the conversion charts are so unreliable,& why buying American clothes is a nightmare for us over here 8)

I've just read 'Ice cold grave' from the Harper Connolly series, has anyone else read these? I think there are 3 or 4 in the series, not nearly as many as the Sookie Stackhouse books......

I've just read all 3 of these too and enjoyed them a lot :D, can't wait for the 4th to be out
