joza2210
chickens just smell anyway well thats what i think even though i love them. I give my chickens a bath every 2 months with johnsons baby shampoo it makes them smell a bit better
Plum
My new ones stunk for a bit when I got them. I think they had a lot of ACV in their water. I use it but not enough to make them stink
Redwing
I bought a couple of chickens a while back that absolutely stank One was so bad it had to have a bath that first night! The smell on the other did fade after a while
chick wiggle
I think all new chickens smell, until they have had your usual feed with garlic powder etc, then they stop smelling or rather smell the same as your others, or you just get used to them and dont smell them any more
Egluntyne
I've always found that Ex-batts pong a bit when they first arrive. Takes about a week for it to fade.

Gelbel
Can't say I've ever noticed mine smelling. I sometimes put my nose next to them when I am having a rare cuddle to see if they do - they don't smell of any thing.

Laura007
its odd, cos my old chooks didnt wiff at all. i might get them a visit to the beauty salon for christmas, or take them round the debenhams perfume counter!
docsquid
Mine don't smell of anything, although they've always been outside. I dropped a clove of garlic when I was bringing some in from the shed today though, and they ate it, so they may pong a bit later today!
