How long do they usally take to hatch, will it hatch over night?
Egluntyne
It probably will hatch overnight. The time they take varies. Exciting for you. Is your brooder up and running?

Lewis
It will take a few hours, just make sure the humidity is up and leave them to it, its really tempting to help them out of they seem to be taking too long, but it normally does more harm than good We all expect photos

Griffin
They sleep alot for the first few days. It doesn't need food or water yet, just leave it in the incubator and hopefully by the time you come home from school it'll have company
Settie
Hi, I am starting to get worried now because they were due to hatch last night but still none of them are haching. Potato is in the brooder now, but he his very lonely.nWill anymore hatch now, or is it to late? Has anyone in Scotland got any chicks at the moment, so he can have compony? atsw
Give it at least 24hrs before worrying. At this time of year it is tricky to predict exactly when hatching will start. Some people have had a gap of 2 days between first egg to hatch and subsequent hatches. So, don't panic just yet. Andrew

Settie
Well, I tried to with the hen eggs with a normal torch but it did'nt really wok because their shells were to thick, but it did kind of work with the duck eggs. Thanx!
Lewis
Well done on the first chick Any news on the others? Make sure the humidity is up, particularly at this time of year, although all this rain is probably a good thing Any photos?
Raina
Hi, Congrats on your little chick My Serama Chick took Over 24 hours to hatch. The other eggs didn't look like they would hatch so i spent i think 2 days looking for some day old chicks i spent over £40 to pick up a 4 day old chick that ended up fighting with the little serama. the chick ended up fine on it's own,it had plenty of teddies to cuddle up to too
