Ms Tilytinkle
yes, exactly like the lo-lites yours has chosen Isnt she beauootiful!! Amazing, will try to take photie. They look sooo funny with their new lo-lites or hi-lites Actually - Lola looks like a different chicken, from being a big BIG fluffy bird to being now a tall thin totally different coloured bird with tufts of feathers in places. Bless, theyre just sooo adorable. I had much more of a welcome home from the chooks then the family ha ha The girlies came running over so fast & enthusiastic Ms Tilyneedsachickensitteroverchristmas:(

Ms Tilytinkle
Ha . .they do actually look like different chickens, aw now Sydney is going through a moult too and she looks grey all around her neck & head where its just white!! Bless what a time to moult. Hmm, I think they manage quite well . .gorge, I mean live on take away pizza & indian take out deliveries , all the things they never have ha ha . . as the fridge was certainly bare, no veggies which they were instructed to buy!!! All joints of meat still frozen in the freezer. Hmmmm The chooks are happy, their new daytime chum chats to them & amuses them & Lola, has taken a shine toi hubby & today I couldn't believe my eyes, Lola not only follows him everywhere, she stands next to him when he's doing anything, she even followed him into the shed today!!! Soooo sweet, the way she looks at him is sooo funny, she tilts her head & watches him the whole time & when he comes in the house she waits at outside the back door for him!!! I mean just what has he been feeding her, of has she decided to take my place ha ha as companion, Mother Hen!! Bless her, she's one crazy chick but it look so sweet. TAJ
My Bluebelle starts turning from grey to brown as her feathers fade - when she moults they come back grey, then fade over the summer again. My blackrock was light brown after not moulting in 20 month, she is now going back to a dark brown/black with her new feathers. Chicken Licken
Good to see you're back Mrs Tily - My chooks are moulting too and poor Primrose looks like an explosion in a feather factory every time the wind blows - puffs of feathers all over the place - silly bird - does she not realise it is almost December!! As for the family I expect they won't get scurvy just yet!! One day they'll realise how easy roast dinners are to do! I love those sign off's too - sohardtoread!! Ms Tilytinkle
tee hee, I guess youre right - they will survive & hubby can make a roast - he's just being lazy!! Bless, an explosion of feathers, we had that with Lil, everytime she shook herself half her feathers would fall out, if sha ran there was trail of feathers behind her. Seems odd time for them to moult, perhaps theyre natural barometers & we're all in for a long cold Winer into early March/April!! Theyre preparing in advance during the milder days, too hot to do it when the weather was warmer .. clever chooks!!
