Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Pumpkin layed a MASSIVE egg yesterday, and when i came to make an omlet with it 4 t, i discovered it had 2 yolks!

It tasted good too!

Double-yolker! Fantastic. Blodwyn did one of those yesterday and I only found out when I came to poach it for lunch today. It is amazing what variety of eggs and yolks a single chicken can muster up.

We had a double-yolker yesterday too - the first egg for about 6 months! Our two hens Mavis & Betty have both been moulting and generally being very lazy on the egg laying front, so was eggstatic to find a huge egg in nestbox yesterday! Think it must be Betty as she is younger (about 1 year). Mavis is about 4 years old and hasn't seemed interested in laying for about a year now. Does anyone know if her egg laying days are over or can they come back into lay after such a long period?
