The Good Life - part3

Recommended Posts

:P I am still "hovering" around the forum, and generally keep up, if not posting. Ginger our original omlet hen died a few weeks ago ... she had just finished moulting, looked absolutely fab - even laid a few good eggs, still she had a good long life. The boys want to get a new hen for Mrs Snowy and Ebony ... but I shall wait now till spring. Joe keeps saying we should get 2 new ones that lay blue !egg! 's .. and then finishes with ".. I wish we could live on a farm" :!: . Then I immediately think of you Lesley, and echo the sentiment in my mind!!!!!.

All your livestock are clearly VERY well looked after, and I am glad you too are also enjoying the fruits of your labour Lesley.

We had a very odd evening.........

Yesterday morning disappered very quickly as a friend called round. Carl tested rather a lot of his Home Brew in the early afternoon and then announced that it was stronger than he thought ....... so he wasn't fit to speak to for the rest of the evening  .

I had been looking forward to last night - Part 1 of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather with Part 2 tonight. We were going to be all settled by 8pm ready to watch it. We were all nice and cosy when we had a phone call - A friend of a friend was going to deliver that 20 tons of road scalpings we'd been asked about at 8pm (:roll: )

No - we haven't got £150 in cash - funny that

He didn't arrive until 8.40 and asked Carl to see him reverse back to the big barn - the blind leading the blind :lol: and I was so frustrated as I didn't dare walk on the mud in the dark to do the job properly. Carl lost his welly clog in the mud

I asked the lad if we could have another load soon - he's not doing another night shift until January. - perhaps we should have asked more questions about the source of this gravel????

We now have a massive pile of raod scalpings between the house and the big barn - those of you who have been here will know tha state of that part of the track :?

We managed to catch up with the Hogfather - well I did - Carl snored through it all

I still didn't get my cards written yesterday
