Lesley
When will it ever stop raining? Yesterday we had arranged to fetch the sheep at 2.30. It started raining mid morning The journey down the M40 was horrendous! It was bad enough between here and Banbury - Banbury to Bicester was awful. It was so dark it was like 5pm at 2pm The sheep were no trouble to get into the trailer but we were all thoroughly soaked by the time they were in....................................... ......................................... and then there was all the paperwork We didn't get home until it was dark and Carl struggled to stop the car and trailer from becoming stuck in the muddy ruts left by the tractor. The field shelter was suppose dto be built on Tuesday but I think the two lads who were supposed to be building it thought they were builders - they didn't turn up We left the trailer in for them to go into if they wanted but as they are Shetland sheep, they should be OK with a bit of bad weather. I opened the curtains this morning and could see all 6 of them just past the chickens run They are...... Two original ewes, one of their daughters and then the three had a ewe lamb each, this spring Edited November 23, 2006 by Guest

Guest
Lesley, your sheep are gorgeous, I love them! We have had sheep in the field behind our house recently and I really love to hear them. They've been left there all night and I can lie in bed listening to them. It's not an invasive sound like other animals, just gentle. I hope you enjoy them! The Dogmother
My aunt and uncle have sheep at the bottom of their graden in Yorkshire - it's a lovely sound isn't it? They're such gentle creatures I remember when those lambs were being born at Pearl's place, it'll be nice to see them grown up.

Karen & co.
Lovely We used to rear (caid?) orphaned lambs when I lived at home, bottle feeding them it was brilliant, I realy like sheep karen x
Aunty e
I had a lamb called Herbert when we lived in Shetland. He was gorgeous and used to follow me around the garden and chase the chickens. And people say gambolling lambs without really understanding what it's like when lambs really do go nuts and kick up their heels and frolick. I love sheep. Want sheep. Need new house. Martin B
Lesley the sheep look wonderful, and their paddock looks huge. Are they for meat or pets or wool?
Lesley
Meat and wool Martin - we're hoping to have lambs next May. CC - I never thought about counting the sheep CC and I had a good chat the other morning at around 3.45 - she was up with toothache and I was up after a panic attack. Nice to see a familiar name at that time in the morning - I thought I was going to have to hop over to the US forum
