Raina
Hi all, does anyone know if omlet sells metal clips for the eglu? I did get plastic ones but within 10 mins my dogs figured out they could chew them to get into the run.they did get in but thank goodness the chooks were locked up. I bought lots of cable ties but my uncle has just rang up to say that his rottie has chewd through those (don't worry he's gone out to buy more lol) So yeah, does omlet sell metal clips? Redwing
Perhaps some garden wire might help?
The Dogmother
The very first eglus had metal springs holding the run together, but they were very fiddly to get on and time consuming too. Is it possible to keep the dogs away from the hens? Being frightened might stop them laying.
Plum
What about putting something that tastes bad on the clips, not sure what.
Raina
I don't think the dogs would put them off laying, my border collie spent ages watching both the girls lay lol & they don't seem to mind the dogs (my uncle even said he get 3 eggs a day at least once a week from my girls lol, and he's had a couple of double yolkers) Didn't think of that Plum, will have to try & find something that all 3 don't like, we bought some of that anti-chew spray a while ago, but the dogs liked the taste If i can't find anything the dogs don't like i'll try Redwings Idea. Thanks
