Charlottechicken
Just bumping this up for anyone like me who missed the last of the three Victorian Farm Christmas programmes. It has been repeated on BBC4 for the past few nights and the last episode is on at 7pm tonight.
fluffyfeet
Has anybody else been to where this was filmed? We went a couple of years ago and it is one of the best places we have visited. If anyone has been to Wernlas you were only just down the road from it. You can see lots of country pursuits that have sadly died out, like weaving, making cart wheels, horseshoes using a proper forge etc. We went into the shepherds hut and the dairy and watched butter being churned, which you can then buy and take home with authentic patterns moulded into the butter pats. And the chickens go bonkers for the buttermilk which they put out. There really is so much to see, I can't sing it's praises enough, and the people who work there really do know their stuff and are very enthusiastic about what they do. If you get the chance to visit please do - and help keep our history alive. Dawn x Just in case you don't know the place is Acton Scott Historic Working Farm and is in Shropshire, quite close to Craven Arms and Church Stretton.
