Fighting/Bullying Hen

Help!!..10 days ago we thought we lost our little bantam - Annie - to a fox...looked everywhere but couldn't find her. Today while out in the garden pottering around I went into the shed and out flew little Annie  , looking well if not a little light weight. We were so pleased to see her, :D.

On re-entering the (green eglu) our large Aracucana (Daisy) attacked her, and keeps chasing her and attacking her in a very aggressive manner. It's very distresssing to watch, each time I intervene and break it up. Annie keeps wandering off to another part of the garden to sit by herself, Daisy stands opposite clucking loudly. We only have 3 chooks and the other large Wellsummer (Lucy) simply ignores everything going on. I am tempted to leave them to it but I have heard of chickens killing each other. As Annie has lost weight and feeling under the weather I am worried Daisy will do her serious harm.

Has anyone any ideas on what I should do.

Separate the bully and leave the other two together.

10 days is a heck of a long time for her to manage by herself. How amazing! Trouble is, the bully won't recognise her now.

If you haven't got separate accommodation, divide the Eglu run with garden canes, and put them in together at night.

wow, what a story! Very pleased you found her safe and well!

She'll need re integrating again with maybe another bantam like Tom suggested so she has a little friend to keep her company. It might work as some of us have bantams living with large fowl. See how it goes after a couple of weeks and if she is still being bullied get another bantam.

Many thanks for the contributions.....all is well amongts the chooks now...they settled down really well after a matter of days. Might have something to do with the dog constantnly pestering them

I love the idea of getting another little bantam, but feel they might be a bit cramped as I only have a (green eglu); although they do free range daily.

The opinon of others in this regard would be welcomed.
