Guest
DH and i got a £25 amazon gift voucher and I just don't know what to spend it on. It can only be used to buy from amazon (not from 3rd party sellers). Those who 'know' me well or reasonably well can hopefully come up with something we'd like (suggestions welcome even if you don't) Can I have some ideas on how to spend it as I just don't know where to start! p.s. I don't think we want any CDs or DVDs thanks
Redwing
Is there a quail breedng book you might like for your venture in to breeding and hatching?
Janepie33
I've just finished a wonderful book called 'The Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society'. You might enjoy that, with a selection of other books. I like the way Amazon tell you which other products people have bought along with the boos you are looking at. Happy spending. Looney
How about something along the lines of foraging / eating what you find out and about growing wild? I've been hankering after books similar to this one.... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fruits-Hedgerow-Unusual-Garden-Gather/dp/1899470271/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1261861601&sr=1-2 There are a few different titles about. Cinnamon
Do you have all the River Cottage supplement books - preserves, veggies,Bread & so on, because they are just brilliant. The new Nigel Slater book 'Tender' is also great,as is his autobiographical novel 'Toast' 'The Victorian Farm' looks good too. Another book which is very 'you' is 'Sloe Gin & Beeswax', which my Mum bought for me a few years ago. Or how about the 'Grow you own Drugs' book? ...........shame there is not a new Bill Bryson due out,as I know you love him.
Snowy
Amazon don't just do books and CDs though. You can get almost anything on there these days! Even download music!
Cinnamon
...........................most of the other stuff is from outside sellers though,so the gift voucher can't be used.
Guest
looks like we can use the voucher for other sellers after all. I found some seed potatoes from a seller called 'buckingham nurseries' but the P&P came to over £7 so we'll get them from the garden centre instead as we also have a loyalty/discount card for there too. I've got a cple of richard mabeys books about foraging and, having done quite a bit, I think we're pretty clued up on that subject already but thanks for the suggestion. I use the library for books mostly and charity shops plus the net and we have a sub to home farmer and loads of books about growing stuff and allotments. this is going to be a tough one to spend! Looney
Maybe you could sell the voucher to someone that uses amazon a lot and then spend the £25 on something else!
