Unsecure chicken perches

My sons gf has decided to throw my son a 21st party and has asked if i would make some cakes. Now i make a mean small cake but don't do so well at large cakes. Don't know why and it frustrates me but i want to ice an uniced fruit cake to match cupcakes.

I've looked online but only found a 7'' for 14.99 anf 6.95 p&p but really wanted bigger 8-10''

Anyone buy one before? or know anyone makes a good one?

Silly question because I don't know if you can ...

Could you make 2 small cakes and put them together so you wouldn't know when they're iced?

Thats what i thought too but went on M&S food online and thought they would do it to order but nope, tried sainsburys and waitrose too.

If you have a sugarcraft shop near you they might sell uniced fruit cakes. I know my local one does and they might send you one by mail order - http://www.need-a-cake.co.uk/. Worth ringing and asking.

You could try Meg Rivers - it's local to me but they do mail order and seem to get good reviews.

Why not make one - mrs clucks mothers cake is brilliant - I add treacle and cherries and spices to mine and it was my xmas cake. OH and a cup of brandY!!

Great minds BRR I can confirm that this recipe is so simple that cubs can make it and is so yummy I never seem to get any
