Worlds Gone Mad

Recommended Posts

We're OK for milk until the 14th, but I usually try and get enough to last a week anyway. Bread is down to one loaf but we have plenty of flour to get that breadmaker working. :D Otherwise I always keep a stock of things so we can live out of the freezer and cupboards for a month plus. It's the fresh veg that I will miss - but not out of it yet - still plenty in the fridge. There's always sprouts and parsnips in the veg patch (but I can't reach them yet) and Jerusalem Artichokes somewhere under the white carpet - plus the soil is hard.

We have had awful trouble trying to get milk and bread and we only have 2 supermarkets within a safe driving distance.

OH went to Somerfield - no bread or milk, he managed to get the last container of coffee mate and we are managing with that.

No fresh veg, hardly any meat (we had to buy Dutch chicken for the dog  )

Tescos Friday - no bread left, woman was seen with 20 loaves in her trolley  no milk and empty shelves.

Tescos yesterday - still no bread, my mum wanted a swede for a stew and there was one organic one left, no suet!!

Local garage and corner shop - supplies of everything dwindling.
