I too have booked myself on a machine quilting course at my local shop, Quilters Haven ( I have no excuse now I have my fandangled new machine).

 

Enjoy your course. My course is how to turn your quilt top into a quilt - choosing the wadding, backing and assembling the whole thing and doing the binding.

I've seen Ferret's quilts at NEC they are amazing. Hope you are able to see some.

Just back from my Machine quilting course - it was really good, I have a good understanding of Needles, Threads and the basics of Free Motion quilting now, still not great at it but hopefully that will come with practice.

 

I can throughly recommend the course and Ferrett as a tutor, and the shop where it was held was clean, tidy well stocked and had really friendly staff - just what I like in a shop.

I'm on a quilting course on Saturday I'm a little nervous.............at least they won't laugh at my sewing machine this time ( last time I did a course I had a mini sewing machine) I have a proper grown up sewing machine now ( with all the quilting feet)

Thanks for the reminder - I'm supposed to be looking up courses - my long suffering quilting buddy wants to try the shop in Dorking, so I will be off and checking up on their website.
