Louise
Thanks Lesley. Because I am not online at home I do have a nice tidy house but I am sure if I did have access to this in the evenings My office looks like a bombsite we have just finished the appraisal process and the forms are meant to be with HR today and I still have 5 outstanding I really need the shovel even if its just to dig my way out
Trish
Sheila, if possible don't put lenses back in that you've used when you have conjuctivitous, this doesn't count if you use daylies obviously. You really risk getting the infection straight back. My optician is very strict about such things and says with an infection you should wait at least seven days after starting treatment, he prefers 14, and then start afresh with new lenses, lens case and solution as you can't be too sure where the infection came from or what's got contaminated Believe me I speak from experience
Sheilaz
Thanks Trish..I didn't mean to make a thing of the eyes; just how dim could I be putting in 2 lenses You're right, although I did change to new pack of lenses (they're monthlies) perhaps I didn't put old ones in bin. Very dim then. Good tip thanks, eyes are so precious. I'm going to be really careful now. Went to theatre this eve.....kept nodding off though....v.good play but tired eyes just kept shutting. Could be an age thing....or leaping out of bed at 6.20 so excited to see chooks!
Trish
Dunno what you mean Sheila, I've managed to just put in one lense and was waiting for the bus before I realised I couldn't see properly. I then spent about an hour trying to adjust a lense that wasn't even in my eye, before I finally realised what I'd done
Sheilaz
Well, if only I knew where to find my sunglasses. Wouldn't look out of place as its soooo sunny today, then no one would be scared seeing my red eyes. It does look as if I've been drinking too much. Which I haven't. Lesley
Thanks Sheila - I'm having a problem remembering which ones I've used from the book and some are just not suitable for all you young things On Wednesdays I overhear the engineers discussing what idiocies peolpe have been telling them or questions customers have asked and I often sit there thinking "What's wrong with asking that!" , so today's words of wisdom:- Make it Idiot proof - and someone will make a better Idiot
Sheilaz
.............. for all you young things Make it Idiot proof - and someone will make a better Idiot Now that is definitely true. In the same vein as childproof, or too complicated for me; can easily be done by a 9 year old.

Lesley
Today I learned:- Don't confuse Chilli with Paprika and dip finger and lick - especially not with two children who thought they'd do the same Jake asked for Paprika and as I was sprinkling it on his dinner thought I'd better check - they copied me straight away from the spoon on the table and we spent ages with our tongues in glasses of water

Louise
Sorry for hijacking your topic Lesley but Ihave learned an important lesson this week Stepping on your glasses is not only an expensive thing to do but it gives everyone a good laugh at your expense including the young lad at the opticians helping to choose the replacements I am here potentially giving myself a blinding headache trying to see the screen
Helen
Tip from a Home Economics teacher...fatty substances such as milk are quicker at easing the burning sensation in the mouth from chillies than water....don't think it will help if you rub your eyes after preparing chillies or going for a wee if your a male chef (ouch!) if you see what I mean
Lesley
Thanks Helen - although I don't intand there to be another time! Louise - this isn't my topic - it's for everybody to come along and give the rest of us a laugh Sorry about your glasses though - how long before you get new ones? buffie
Well I have learnt to practice what I preach! I preach "you can do it". So yesterday I Spent 2 hours, with my Katie Boxer who is now going for op in about a week, looking for a supplier of chicken feed etc. Got lost after naff directions from AA website. Gave up last night and thought will call the lovely woman I spoke to yesterday and tell her I will wait to visit when Michael can drive. Decided, during this conversation, to give it another go with better directions! Found it and feel great, no chickens until friday but have some bits and bobs that say " Yes, I have chickens!" I love that satisfied glow that achievement of any kind can bring! B x Edited April 19, 2005 by Guest
