wrist warmers - crochet by me :o)

Recommended Posts

Thanks to Attic 24 http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2009/10/wrist-warmers.html I have made my ED a pair of really lovely crochet wrist warmers, piccy below

I started them on Thursday, but the first rectangle went a bit skew wiff, ie I wasn't aware you needed to add stitches at end of rows in order to not loose any stitches :oops: So, not disheartened, I made another rectangle and this time I got a few extra stitches :o but it wasn't too bad and I have got away with it.

The next rectangle went like a dream, so much so, I didn't really need to count at all

I joined the rectangles, leaving a thumb hole with red single crochet (sc) stitches, and then did a little frilly trim, by doing one sc, 4 ch missing a stitch, sc, 4 chain etc until you finished so they looped. The red trim goes round the bottom edge too, but it's curled up a bit in the photo so you can't see it.

ED has declared they are her joint fave pair with her black and cream ones from Accessorize :D

I now have two orders to do a red and black pair for DS and an orange and yellow pair for YD

edited to say I had a small shock when I read Attic 24's front page which said Farewell! Seems I wasn't the only one (130 comments!), but she was saying farewell to 2009 and not her blog *PHEW*
