Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

i know there's prob a post on here before about this but there was just too many pages to go through when i did a search, so the question is how much do i put in there food? or with here morning porriage.

i have 4 two are ex-bats when they lay they are alway soft now. the other two are less than 6 months old and are laying fine 1 every other day at the moment.

Don't know the right answer but I mix about a dessert spoon with a grub of pellets or a teaspoon to a bowl of wet pellets.

 

Don't use for too long as I believe too much calcium can cause kidney problems. If I have just one who I think needs a supplement I give her a bowl of food alone in the morning.

 

Another way is liquid calcium - zolcalD which I put the daily dose on a piece of bread and just treat the right chicken

I Give my girls a Table Spoon full per hen (I give my tortoises a teaspoon full)

Also try adding a slurp of cod liver oil to aid the absorption of the calcium. I add it every so often, not on a regular basis.

Ad hoc basis here too, I add a dessert spoonful to two litres of pellets/feed with cod liver oil to help them absorb it.
