joyciee
Is it possible for two cockerels to live together ? I have two young ones they are both crowing now and so far no fighting is this normal ?
tom123
Depend son how many hens you have with them and what breed they are but generally, unless you have 15-20 hens then no.
Little Clucker
I suppose it depends on personality too, I had two cockerels living together; a wyandotte who hated everything and a soppy light sussex who thought he was a teddy bear I swear. My new cockerel came from a family with 3 and they only had 3 girls and no squabbles
xScrunchee
The breeder where I get my chickens from keeps several cockerels, different sizes and ages together and never has any problems. She also keeps bantams with large fowl, ducks in with chickens, youngish chicks go in with older chickens and she never bothers with slow intro's. It could just be that she is lucky though
Redwing
I have three boys that are 6 months old that live in harmony, there are two things that make that so.. 1) they grew up together 2) there are no females in the picture
Patricia W
I have a cockerel and he has 2 wives( soon to be 4...) but when we had some chicks and one crowed- he went beserk - trampling round the garden looking for this upstart! the youngster had to go. I think the trick is that it will work if there are enough wives to go around- as someone else said you'll need 15-20 to keep 2 happy. Also, if you have neighbours what will they think of TWO cockerels? Tricia

chick wiggle
I've named them Colin and Justin after the TV designers . Oh flippin 'eck, will they be having chintz curtains on the run?
smokiechicken1969
haha chick wiggle and accessorising the coop with scatter cushions it was me that had a neighbour say she didnt move to the country to listen to a cockerel all day, and i live on a farm, its been here since the 16th century so when the council turned up at mine it was a shock thats for sure. cockerels will always be an emotive subject. its a topic that always gets people heated. if i had the space i'd rehome them all here, and let them make little chinz curtains all day long....
