Sweetpeas

Recommended Posts

I love sweetpeas. I love that you have to keep cutting them or they stop flowering - so you "have" to have vases of flowers in the house.

I love that the seeds are really big so dead easy to sow.

I love that the seedlings are big, so dead easy to transplant.

They are also quick-growing from seed. And endless colours. And lovely smell.

Personally, I would give seeds a go as if they don't do well then you can always get some plantlets in early spring: seeds aren't expensive - say £1.20 so it's not like you're risking much ££ doing it that way.

I have to grow sweetpeas every year! I usually have at least 3 wigwams of them - 2 in the garden and 1 in the veggie garden along with runner beans. You get masses of flowers, and as has been said, the more you pick the more you get. Well worth the price of a packet of seeds. 8)

Garden centres will start selling small plants around March Franklyrabbit.
