Blue-DiamondChick07 Posted January 31, 2010 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Every morning, I move the girls to bigger run , so they can flap their wings, but today, one of my hens doesn't want to venture outside. she comes out of the coop and potters about in the attached run, but doesn't want to come out into the other run. They're yet to lay eggs. Oh and shes making a long high croaky type of cluck.. She does keep darting back into the nest box/coop Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Chucky1 Posted January 31, 2010 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Hi Blue, It's worrying when they do things out of the ordinary. Hopefully she may just be under the weather. A couple of thoughts: Will she come for treats? Can you pick her up? Is she being picked on by the others? Is the croaking sound like a cough, if it is I would get her to a vet. Best of luck. Shes out and fine again now though, so perhaps not (unless shes drops one in the run) I have noticed the combs are getting larger...
