My dad used to have an egg dealer who always had double yolkers. Anyone got any facts, theories or experiences?

A butchers by us guarantees double yolkers - I assume they're scanned

it's rare for there to be 6 in one box of shop brought egg due to the scanning and weighing they go through. although Morrisons used to sell doubles a few years back I remember buying them when the Wallsall store first opened.I think there's a stall in the West Bromwich indoor market that sells them.

I read that article yesterday and thought so what? Back BH (before hens) I regularly got whole boxes of double yokers when I brought locally produced large eggs from Morrisons. I could ALWAYS guarantee at least one per box.

I love double yolkers ! They are quite exciting as you dont normally see them .

I wish I got more !!

I have only had one .. and that was last year when the hens first started laying .. [ correlates to the article about younger hens producing them ]

I am in minority and upset when I see a double yolk from mine , I get worried about them getting stuck.
