freespiritbutterfly
After working flat out for almost 2 weeks without a day off, i have 4 days off over the weekend and really want to do something fun or different or adventurous (sp?) . Any ideas? Flights are too expensive so i'm thinking day trips or something?
PapaJuliet
Not really an idea for a day out but if you fancy something different you come come to an ice hockey match in Coventry. We have home matches on Thursday (against Cardiff - 7:45 pm face off) and Sunday (against Edinburgh - 6pm face off). Doors open an hour before face off and there is an on-ice warm up. Alternatively, we have an away match in Nottingham on Saturday. Matches generally last around 2 1/5 hours but it depends on how much stoppage time there is. If you are interested and want more details, let me know. PJ
Saronne
Ryton organic gardening centre is good - if you're into that sort of thing - and they do nice lunches... How 'bout the dry ski slope in Tamworth?... Have you been to the Space Centre in Leicester - or Leicester's Golden Mile (a.k.a.,Mini Mumbai) A day trip London could be fun. Brick Lane has a good market and funky boutiques. Saronne x
majorbloodnock
Got a bike? You're right next to the Grand Union Canal, so why not get on your bike, pick a direction and just set off. Enjoy the scenery, stop and explore when something takes your fancy, and spend the nights at whichever B&Bs you find. How's that for adventurous? The entrance fee is £15 for adults, £10 concessions and £7 for children. It's at the Skydome, if you know where that is. PJ

Lewis
The theatre always gets my vote - could try student standby at the hippodrome where you turn up on the days and get the best tickets they have left, for the cheapest price (about £15). You could always have a day in London on the train ... we got there for £5 return in October Bike ride on the canals sounds good, you could have tried Sutton Park/Dovedale too
