Looney Posted February 23, 2010 Share Posted February 23, 2010 I've only made chunky soups or broths in the slow cooker and they tend to be using whatever I have in the fridge that needs eating up. I always soften the onions/leeks/celery in butter first before putting in, other stuff I just chop and chuck in and add stock and/or water. Egluntyne Posted February 24, 2010 Share Posted February 24, 2010 Lightly brown a couple of onions and some garlic (plus a few curry spices if it takes your fancy), lob them into the slow cooker with all the redundant veg that are lurking in the fridge, making sure that one of them is a largish potato.
