Sooo much pooping

My silly girls have all taken to sleeping outdoors . Molly stayed in the eglu for a few nights (on her own ) but has obviously been missing her pals and has joined them this evening.

 

I don't think there's anything nasty in the eglu . They seem quite happy to use it for laying. Even Maisie has been laying eggs again after nine months (is the sleeping outside connected to that, I wonder ?)

 

The downside is that there is poo over every single perch and branch and all over the garden bench . It takes some cleaning .

that is amazing considering how cold it is, I am going back to look at your WIR again they must be very happy. I agree about the poo though

I have four girls who are living outside at the mo Also, 4 little 7 week olds have decided to sleep on the perch in their run

Maybe they heard that you were going camping in Redwings field, and decided they wanted to try a spot of camping too, by sleeping al fresco

Well, after all 5 of them camping out for the last 2 nights, tonight 3 of them were in the eglu, one was scratching about in the run and one was standing at the eglu door squawking at what, I don't know . I went out to clean up some of the poo and of course, they all came out to help .

 

So they all got put to bed in the eglu . Well, it is snowing, silly mares .

Boris, our original ex batt has vacated the eglu too She has taken to sleeping in a animal shelter thingy which we use as a nesting box. Silly girl!!!

You're not wrong there . After a few weeks of sleeping outdoors, last night 3 of them went into the eglu for the night and tonight, they're all in there .

 

What goes through their little feathery brains, I really don't know .

After my amazement at this thread ANH, I can report that my little Appenzeller Nyssa has taken to camping out on a perch Although maybe every 4th night she'll opt for the cube.

Most of mine seem quite happy to roost outdoors all year round Why do I have a lovely spacious cube with only 4 chooks in it?

Mine are playing musical chairs . Each night there seems to be different number indoors and out . Molly's the only one with sense who sleeps indoors consistently!
