A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Aside from an obsessive compulsion to get elf shoes, my other must-have this season has been the mega pom pom hat. I tried this at Omletina's with Couperwife's pom pom maker, but alas it was too small, so I had to double up the pom poms and have been wandering round like Minnie Mouse for weeks. The old cardboard rings and wool ball were just not having it. I got all tangled. I couldn't make the mega pom pom. But then I found a BIGGER pom pom maker on the interweb. And now mega pom pom hattage is MINE!!!!!
ubereglu
Hahaha! You look a bit like Minnie mouse with that hat!
Plum
Why have you got a bowling ball stuck on your head? Watch out in doorways you may get stuck
Snowy
Hurray! You managed to get your giant pom pom at last! It does look very ... erm ... big! I bought some of the little pom pom makers as well this week. Not made any for myself yet but the boys keep wanting me to make them in different colours. They have a whole pompom family each now
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I've seen a few people with pom poms of different sizes sewn into pom pom scarves this winter Snowy. You could give that a go?
craftyhunnypie
Ha ha - that hat is so funny - love the facial expression! I've got two small pom pom makers, I'd like a very pom pommy bag with them I think, how do you sew on pom poms? Emma.x
Snowy
When you tie the pom pom off, leave the tails of the yarn quite a bit longer. Ooh, or just had a thought - use yarn to tie the pom pom, then tie a long piece of cotton thread round as well. Trim the yarn tails, but leave the cotton tails long and they can be used to sew it in place! Never tried it, but it sounds like it may work! A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Yeah basically that, and then lots of overstitching through the tied bit of the pom pom if you can find it. They do rock, even if a mega pom pom gives you neck droop.
Valkyrie
It's rather in a very strange way!
