Daphne
If you're after hybrids in Sussex, Mantel Farm at Henley Down near Catsfield have healthy, reasonably priced stock (but not open on Sats! Its Thurs, Fri, Sun from memory). They have housing/drinkers etc and feed. Or you could try the cider farm place at Firle - not sure what that's like but it does have the national cider collection and a small animal petting corner and yummy food - destination for all the family! There are also bantams at G&S Bantams, Tenterden. I think members have recommended HenHouse Poultry who are in Kent somewhere I believe. annettec
Ben at hen house poultry in Teston is great we got our three hybrid girls from him. As new chicken keepers we found him very helpful and full of great friendly advice. Our girls have been great and even laud all through the snow three eggs every day ! His website at henhousepoultry shows you the breeds he has for sale. Have fun and happy hen hunting !
Tara.F
We get ours from a lovely man in Chislehurst Is that near you at all? He mainly sells Pekins, light sussex and seramas.
jellykelly
I also recommend Ben at Hen house Poultry, just outside of Maidstone. http://www.henhousepoultry.co.uk/ He is at 14 tonbridge Road between Teston and Wateringbury. He has a HUGE selection of hens and really does know his 'stuff'. He also has a 'Go' house set up and sells these and wooden coops/runs too. A chickychickychick-ENN!!
ABSOLUTELY recommend Ben. He's lovely, patient, hugely knowledgeable, has great healthy chickens - he's the absolute best for hybrids in the county. Got all mine from him, and would get more in future. He's FABULOUS. Hinksy
Thanks for the replies people, very helpful. When I posted the topic I had looked about internet and found the Hen House Poultry website and we called them, they did seem very helpful and even better now to know we had picked a top one with so many recommendations.
