Cooks
*waves back* New Moon is very important, but I dont know about being more important than a mezzanine.. I might need to watch it again to consider that.. Yes Bumble is a cutie but wasn't liking it so we adapted it, not a problem anything for my girls. chick wiggle
Yeah, and then 5 minutes after throwing something away, you need it ! OH made his staging too so im sure he could make another one Have to go and make sammiches now We had roll mop herring and salad and chocolate and popcorn while watching ;you know what' So we're just gonna have some sammiches now. Do you know if Debbsie went to get her chookies or did she stay and bake? Personally i would have left the baking to Mr Kipling just this once and gone and for new chooks OK see ya after sammiches

ClaireG
Hello *wave*. Just got back from the inlaws. Poor FIL now has a bad chest and really isn't well. MIL said he's been ok all week. He had another "do" this morning. He got up at 5.30 and tried to get dressed, he put one foot in a bag and the other in the wrong leg of his trousers His mental state isn't good at all. He's not eating. He insisted on helping MIL dish up dinner and carry plates through, i had to rescue two as he nearly dropped them. We made him check his blood sugar and it's twice what it should be. MIL made BIL go and get a couple of cordless phones as she is going back to work tomorrow She wants FIL to have a phone near him so she can ring to check he is ok. I don't think if he is having a bad moment he would be able to remember to press the green button to answer. She has also asked BIL to go round tomorrow to make sure FIL can get to the pub ok. I don't think the pub will do him any favours especially if he has his normal sunday 4-5 pints when he's not eating. He is seeing the Dr on Tues, it's taken this long as the Dr MIL wants to see only does part time now. I just hope the Dr is better than he usually is. It's a horrid situation MIL and BIL are in denial and Simon doesn't want to say anything in front of his Dad.
Cooks
oh bless your heart Claire, I hope the Dr is able to try to get the bottom of things for all of you.

Laura & CTB
Oh Claire - sounds really a stressful situation - all my biggest hugs coming your way. Cookie - typical isnt it - a great mezzanine floor and there's always someone scared of it Debs - sleep is the most imprtant - you'll start to feel ill otherwise, take care of yourself first sweetie. I was sooo mad earlier - had a phone call from CTB work colleague who has a poorly chook and can I help? Me: does her crop feel full or empty? Reply: I'm not sure Me: Does her abdomen feel tight/hot/swollen? Reply : I'm not sure Why dont people get to know what there girls feel like when they're well so they know whats wrong when they're ill?? Sorry - rant over - off to top up my wine - back soon!!! Space Chick
Phil doesn't do shop bought lunches, he reckons everything tastes awful compared to my stuff Well I think I have some curried parsnip soup in the freezer, so thats Monday sorted. If I can make a pasty on Monday night that'll be Tues, Weds and Thursday sorted. Maybe I can make some bread then on Weds or Thurs night and we can have some sarnies on Friday, and my big bake can be next weekend We'll work something out. Laura - That is shocking Even with a flock of 13 I know my girls. Whats normal, and whats not. I know when they are even a little out of sorts. Space Chick
I just think that some people do not have the same relationship, love and respect for their girls as we do. I find it very strange personally. I don't get how chickens are just handy egg machines to some people. For me they are my gorgeous, beautiful and loved babies
Lewis
Did they expect you to be psychic and do a phone diagnosis Try and get them to compare them to their other chooks - normally what I say to friends that aren't sure The farmers can tell some of the sheep / turkeys apart - obviously none have names, but any that have a problem - "so and so happened when she was a lamb" Don't know how they remember them all, but suppose thats their job... We name the really strange ones - Dolly has 3 legs and 1 eye, so we can all tell her apart I can tell the whole of my flock apart and spot any problems Not too taxing with 2 is it? Hope FIL is ok Claire and the Dr is helpful on Tues. Lewis has ordered a chinese Lemon chicken + chips, and have put some rice on to cook Edited March 20, 2010 by Guest
Laura & CTB
You're right Lewis - phone diagnosis was exactly what they wanted - but sorry I'm not psychic!! I spent 5 months researching keeping chickens before I got mine, however - finished ranting for the night and chinese sounds lovely - lucky you !! Space Chick
Why didn't you just buy the rice too? I have had no appetite the last few days So I had a few crackers and a piece of cheddar for tea.
chick wiggle
I agree Debs, get to know your girls, its the only way to know if they're 'out of sorts', can she compare it to the others to try and figure out what the problem might be? Oh Claire, what an awful situation for you to be in, with everbody else seemingly in denial. I really hope your FIL is ok at least until he gets to see his Dr. and Debs, if you slept, then you obviously needed it, its hard work been an expectant Auntie! I just wish you was nearer then I could try some of your baking, (I know I should have said helped there, but really want some of your cooking )
