chickencam
An old friend rang my doorbell at lunchtime. I haven't seen her for a couple of years, our children were at playgroup together, but went onto different school, she got a job and we fell out of touch. She had been on a course just round the corner from me and popped in for a cup of tea and a chat and stayed for 3 hours. We did quite a bit of catching up I am now massively behind with what I was supposed to be doing today, but it was really nice to catch up with her and to see that her and her family seem so happy these days. Her ED and my DS were very close at playgroup, they would sit with their arms around each other, they were the two exentric children of the group and got on very well. My YD and her YD were also close friends at playgroup. Also she loved out chickens and has been thinking about getting some of her own

Ain't Nobody Here
How lovely . It's always a shame when circumstances cause a friendship to lapse.
Olly
... and how many people would have thought about ringing the doorbell and then been too embarrassed/scared to go ahead? I've been in this position where you think 'I haven't been in touch for months, they won't want to see me'. Invariably if you go ahead, the person is (like you) just delighted to see you and doesn't start counting how long it is!
