grageomat
I got 4 chickens yesterday! I have wanted chickens for years and years and finally i got some So we have Bellina (Cream Legbar) Penelope (Silver laced Wyandotte) Luna (White Star) Ezmerelda (Speckeldy) I must admit Bellina is my favourite so far she looks a right character! Penelope is Queen Bee already showing whos boss! Luna is a bit of a looper desperate to get out of run pacing back and fore like a mental patient! And Ezmerelda seems very laid back! Im looking to see their little characters evolve and cant wait for them to start laying those first eggs. Will get some pics up soon (as soon as i figure out how to) Does anyone have simillar chickens to give me any pointers or things to look out for? Space Chick
Good choices, I have the same breeds as you (only my Wyandotte is Gold laced not Silver) Cream Legbar - My favourite of my girls, was flighty until she started laying, now is very very affectionate and likes to jump on my lap for a cuddle. Wyandotte - Mine is an aloof stroppy madam Frequently goes broody, and holds grudges against other chickens White Star - Loves dustbathing and getting filthy dirty She also was quite flighty and the pacing like a nutter sounds about right She didn't read the rule book on crouching and has never crouched for me. Speckledy - The top chook in my flock of 13. Quite a quiet girl, but definitely the boss Hope this helps You have chosen some lovely breeds there
Laura & CTB
Welcome Grant and congratulations on your new girls. They will all develop their personalities over the next few weeks. Your description of Luna sounds like my white star Stella when she first arrived home - completely scatty and she frequently tried to exit the run via the roof ( 8ft up) I have to say that she has calmed down a lot now and is my "shoulder" chicken -aww!! Hope to see the photos soon !

My white star likes to sit on my head They are all real characters but some are funnier than others and my Cream Legbar and White Star are definitely 2 of my funnier girls

grageomat
Wow well yesterday we got our first so well done Bellina, i was sooo chuffed and didnt expect an egg after the first day and she went and layed another today! Amazing so the last 2 days ive just been singing "Bellina layed an egg, Bellina layed an egg, alittle egg, a little egg, Bellina layed an egg! lol i was excited! So far they haven't been out their run, i've just been trying to settle them in but i cant wait to get them out in the garden running around, though 1 of my little daschunds seems a little too excited about them so might take a while lol So im going to try and figure out how to get the pics on just now. ali-s
Hello and welcome from me. Do you mind me asking where you got your Cream Legbar and Whitestar from? I am looking to expand my flock and would like a green/blue egg layer and another white egg layer. Thanks
grageomat
Ali-s Of course not! I got the cream legbar from akpoultry up past inverurie (though i have a feeling i got last one until summer - though i could be completley wrong) White star and other 2 girls i got from pegasuspoultry up past Ellon near Auchnagat (plenty of them and Angela who runs the place is very friendly and has a nice setup) Both have websites: www.akpoultry.co.uk and www.pegasuspoultry.moonfruit.com Hope you manage to get some.
