Space Chick
Its Phils birthday next month, and he wants 2 skylines/columbines He has his heart set on this breed as wants hybrids and potential of blue/green eggs (he know its a 20% chance they won't) I know that Merrydale and Cotswolds chickens supply them. Does anyone know any other reputable breeders that have them? Merrydale won't reserve and Cotswolds are out for the next 2 months. Falkor
I am not sure that they reserve but they always seem pretty well stocked with hybrids and if you give them a call they are very helpful Not too far from me so I could always nip down the A1 for ya

TAJ
I am interested why he wants hybrids. When I got my Cream Legbar (100% sky blue eggs) I did lots of research first. For a 'normal' brown egg layer there is a substancial difference in egg laying between hybird/pure breed, but when you get to the green/blue egg layers the difference in nowwher near as much - from memory the hybrids were quoted as 250-270 eggs whilst the pure breeds were around 220. My cream Legbar laid until late December and started again lat Feb. Wernlas have some great Cream Legbars, lovely colour eggs. Tracy

Falkor
Ooh Thornes have got Orps and Araucana and and and ... arrrrh but only to look at this time of year - hatching eggs available "in season". Pure Breeds tend to be for sale a bit later in the year (or at least that is what happened last year) it is the WORST place to go if you DO NOT want to extend your wishlist
