I'm not very practical, so could do with some help here. In my endless quest to get the chooks to sleep longer in the mornings, I've tried all sorts of blankets but not having much success. I thought I'd buy some blackout curtains from Amazon, but they all seem to be cream coloured. I expected them to be black. The product description says cream coloured is as good as if not better than black. Is that true and what do you nice people advise.

I've got a horrible feeling that they're being woken by crows that fly overhead at first light shouting ' Get up chickens, get up!'. :?

You can get them in black, they've got some at school for the stage to black out the windows :)

Someone made a blackout cover to fit snugly over the eglu, can't remember who though

me :D had them made, I have a WIR but used them (cream)for holiday hens ouside.

they seem to be fine but not pleasant with rain. but the innerlinning stuck to the fook of the glu in the frost and a little peeled off.

think I paid £25 to have them made + the costr of the fabric. but fits nicely on with out needing bungees...

:)

and for fox paranoia me, ALSO covers the "port" beautifully!
