FIL had a dodgy tummy - so he wouldn't eat anything just drinking water instead. Eventually he went to the doc who told him it was a different virus and he had to eat to flush it through. He wasn't even given antibiotics. So he scoffed everything had a couple of unpleasant moments and after a couple of days - all better! Who would have believed it? If it doesn't sort itself out Aunty Kooj says go and see the doccy.

I'm so annoyed, there's a dirty cat that lives somewhere round here and it keeps messing in the patch of earth right outside my front door, eventhough I've just planted it up with pansies. This morning when leaving the house I've found it's messed in the plant pot - which is full of flowers - right next to the front door There's another cat, probably the same one, that actually messes on the paving in my front garden and has been on the path right in front of my back gate before now Grrrrr!! Why are cats allowed to get away with it? Any ideas anyone?

PT - there is a plant that deters cats from doing their business - most garden centres call it Scaredy Cat I believe.

I am afraid that my three cats prefer to do their business on my neighbours lawn and somehow Molly, my cat, always seems to do the business when neighbour and i are having a nice chat.

 

I do go out most evenings and popper scoop it up though. My neighbour swears she doesn`t mind and keeps telling me that it is just one of those things but still...........

 

I wonder if she thinks that Alice's egg announcment at 6.15am today is just one on those things The smaller the chook the shriller the bok!

My mum had a couple of those plants, we went to the garden centre to get more for me and were told they were seasonal, they only last the one season too. I did have some smelly gel stuff you scattered over the area they were messing in, can't remember what it was called, might get some more of that.

 

We did have a real problem when we first moved in with cats messing all over the grass, was a nightmare, as I couldn't let the kids out without checking and clearing up first. They seemed to have stopped since getting the chickens

 

It annoys me mostly that this cat doesn't see to care where it goes, so it doesn't matter how many plants I put in, it just goes on top of them. And it's right outside the front door

I used to use 'Get Off My Garden' ideally though you have to clear all of the poo up first

Think that's the stuff I had, bought online from somewhere. Clearing it up is especially at the moment, cat poo is one of things they warn you to be careful of when you're pregnant. Wouldn't mind so much if they were my own cats, but as they're someone elses it's really annoying. If it was a dog messing in other peoples gardens there would be uproar.

Butting bales? Hmmm, lot gentler on the head than a brick wall - I must try that.

 

Mum always puts down the pruned rose clippings around her earthy patches or plants to be protected because they don't like the thorns and avoid the area. Other than that she likes to use orange peel dotted around - apparently they don't like the smell. I tried that and found it didn't work because one of the cat's next door uses the gravel as a loo between the cars and garage in spite of the orangey bits. Not nice driving and suddenly getting a waft. Another one was mothballs but it had to contain napthalene - I don't think they are made with naptha any more. Tried lion poo but it doesn't really work either - as I saw the other cat from next door having a jolly good sniff and continued to patrol my garden (and it sprays all over the place poooooeeeeee). Bit hard to hang something like pellets or pepper dust in the yew tree. Although there's a zoo not too far away. And anyone wanting to take little'uns, it's a lovely place - begin's with M and I'm having one of those forgetful days.

Em's been round and we have set up the dog crate for chick housing... it looks really good, Em's handy with the ole Stanley knife!.. the cardboard is cable tied in place.
