Boy or a girl!?!

Recommended Posts

I've had these 2 little Silkie x Pekins, belived to be hens, since christmas, but now i am not so sure, they are only a little younger than the rest, about 30 weeks, i think. But i am not sure about the sex, they make totally different noises, but they dont mkae noises like cockeralls, they have dark skin (breed?) and dont lay eggs. Sorry if i'm over-reacting but i'm just not totally convinced John, and Edward are girls!

Also they fight alot, puff up there feathers on the neck and run around eachother :S

I dont know if this means something but my other girls dont do that..

Thankyou.

2 girls. Their noises change as they mature - they can't be far off laying -if 30 weeks, then I'd say they will lay in the next 4 - 5 weeks. Silkies take ages to come into lay.

Iftheywere boys - I think they would have obvious combs & wattles by now. The boys tend to be larger & more upright stance too.

I thinkyou are lucky there.

Beautiful. I worried terribly about Eider who used to show same behaviour and had larger comb and wattle (different breed) but eventually laid. Fingers crossed for you. I know silkies don't have much comb but the males do, so I'll put my vote with girls. :D
