Hen Watch
When I've cut up a melon for my children, I give the hens the skin to peck at. They eat every last s"Ooops, word censored!" of melon flesh from the inside and leave the skins behind. They love melon pips even more........... LunaKiw1
Like Chicken Expert we let ours have left over rinds and they peck them clean and also adore the seeds. THey will, when given the chance, eat whole melon segments too.

Plum
My neighbour gives me watermelon and they love it. I also find bags of peelings, cabbages, cauliflower and all sorts on my fence.
sunshinesupernova
I had a really naff melon last week. Totally tasteless and really dry. It didnt go to waste - put the whole thing out and the chooks demolished it - only the skin was left - looked like a burst football
