Well Betty laid me an egg today. So as a treat i thought I would try her with some greens, so I went straight to the supermarket and bought a cabbage, not just for her but for the other girls too.

Well you would think I had given them poison....they looked at it kept running up to it and then running off...none of them touched it.

I have brought it back in the house and will put in the run again tomorrow morning when I let them out.

I thought all chicks liked greens but not mine...they must be very fussy

But never mind at least I got a lovely little egg from Betty.

Claire :D

I tend to buy the 'open' type of cabbage and then drop a few mealworms and grains of corn between the leaves.... It seems to focus their mind and gives them a bit of interest. I also use a potato peeler to completely peel a carrot (until there's only a core left), which they go bonkers for.

It took my 2 newbies about 3 days to try a cabbage for the first time last week

my 2 hybrids would touch it for nearly 3 months until I got my first 3 wernlas girls they dived straight in didn't even wait for me to pick it then the hybrids started to eat it too but only if i pick it first
