They now have a converted drawer which they do use sometimes but are just as keen to dig holes in the run. At the end of last summer Tesco put all their playsand on offer so i bought about twenty bags but the chooks hardly touch the stuff except to eat it so i may rake out the bark from the run and use sand instead. They always kick bark into the glugs and the dustbath anyway so sand might be a bit cleaner. You can always tell when they've been eating it as it shows up on the eggshells.
