Chicken boarders

i am going to grow some food for the chickens! Are the following ok:

 

1)wild bird seed-where this has dropped and grown in the garden they love the plants that have grown from it!

2)sprouting beans

3)cress

 

would anything else be suitable?

I may be on the wrong track here but what about a lettuce or two ? we give ours the lettuce hearts tied to the fence and they love them. I've seen them eying up my veg growing in the veg garden next to their run, but the fence is too high for them (I hope )

We're growing peas (3 types!), beans (4 types), cabbages, broccoli and sweetcorn...we get the first pick, the chooks get the rest!!

 

They're currently very unimpressed by all the netting over the seedlings, I'm wondering if the time they spend in the eglu is to 'hatch' a plan to get past the net, rather than lay eggs!!

cut and come mixed salad leaves are good and old/cheap brassica /radish/carrot seed mixed togeather then sown in a large seed tray if the girls get limited FR time put an off cur or mesh over the top to stop them scratching in it you should get 3 crops of it

Most fruit and veg is fine, ours love our raspberries, tomatoes, beans, peppers, etc...

Perpetual spinach grows really well and with a fleece for protection will last all winter. I snap a few leaves of each plant and tie them up for the hens to shred!

We grow long shallow trays of grass and put them in their run (not too long though)...they love it.

We also grow cut and come again salad leaves.
