Egluntyne
What is happening at the bottom of the page? Every time I visit the forum, I get a message at the bottom of the opening page asking me to tick the box to sign in. I don't recall this being here before. Anybody else?? I also get "Invalid submission" every time I try to post, and have to try twice or more. Heeeeeeeelp!
Guest
That box has always been there - you tick it, and you'll automatically be logged in when you click on the forum. Not sure about the 'invalid submission' though....what WERE you trying to post?!
Egluntyne
Nothing saucy...I'm a good girl. How embarrassing....I've never noticed the thingy at the bottom of the page....but come to think of it, I have always been able to sneak through before. Another of life's mysteries. Cinnamon
I have never seen that, & have had a look & still can't see it I do keep getting logged out though, & now always have to log back in to post, even thought it already says I am logged it (sounds more complicated than it is!) Cinnamon
......seems to be since James was tinkering the other week
Mrs Frugal
I get logged out every now and then when my computer throws a wobbly and the boxes appear at the bottom. I fill them in and tick the box and it works - till the next time. As for the other problem, it might be a little glitch that's popped up. Hopefully it won't affect you again. If it does, shout. I can't do anything about it but I can report it to James.
Richard T
It's happening to me too. I get a message saying "Invalid session. Please resubmit." Sometines it takes a couple of goes to get a post through. Sometimes I just give up. Edit. Typical! This one went through with no problems. But I had logged on for the third time. Mrs Frugal
James is away this week but could you both let me know if it continues and I'll e-mail him to see if we've got a gremlin in the admin cupboard again.

The Dogmother
I went through a phase of having that message a while ago, I emailed James and it was sorted out. I can't remember now, but it might've been around the time that he migrated over to the new server. (On another note.... Richard, will you and HP be able to make it to the Official Omlet do this year?)
Egluntyne
I've been getting the "Invalid Message. Resubmit page" message again whenever I try to post on the forum. It seemed OK for a couple of days. I'm wondering if the cursor problem I was having is in anyway connected, as both happen when I try to post. Bloomin' nuisance. Anybody else still having probs?? Richard T
I'm still having problems. Getting posts through that is.
The Dogmother
Have you tried emailing James?
Egluntyne
No...will do right away.
The Dogmother
I am sure that if he were aware of the problems, he'd do something to fix it.
Lesley
Isn't James away at the moment? I don't think anyone covers the forum when he is away
Mrs Frugal
James has been away for the last week and is probably completely snowed under as a result, I'm afraid. If Egluntine has e-mailed him, I'm sure that he'll have a look into the problem as and when he has time . In the meantime, everyone having problems, please bear with us as it's out of my technical reach, I'm afraid.
Egluntyne
I have emailed him. The problems are liveable with...just a bit annoying.
Mrs Frugal
There was a similar problem on River Cottage a while ago. It is a pain but hopefully it's just a temporary glitch and will go away soon.
Martin B
So that's why he hasn't replied to my work experience application!
Cinnamon
Can I ask what has happened to the alert button that used to be on the posts? Not a problem - just curious!
Guest
It caused more technical problems than it solved, I think, so James removed it, in an attempt to get the forum running smoothly.
