Hi

I remove all bedding and wash the eglu with warm soapy water with Ecover in it. Buy ecover from any supermarket in the washing up aisle. When its dry, i then spray it until its drenched with poultry shield. It is quite expensive but condensed so it lasts and lasts, it goes on forever! Dilute it into one of those cheap garden sprayers, If possible let it dry rather than wipe it dry. Dont forget to spray the roosting bars and nest box divider and roof too.

This gives it a really good protective shield against any mites etc. It is the best thing on the market in my opinion too.

Hope this helps

:D

thanks chickenwiggle, do you hose it down after you have sprayed the shield on or just leave to dry? what you are doing is what i am planning exactly, i went and bought ecover, a garden sprayer and a new washing up bowl, just for the chickens!!! need to get hold of the poultry shield now!!! xx
