hippy chick
There is something wrong with my ex-bats neck. She sometimes walks sideways and with her neck pulled to one side. It often makes her seem to go round almost in a circle. She did get a nasty cut to her neck last year which did leave a gaping hole for ages. Its healed perfectly now though. Could the strange walk be something to do with the old injury or is it something more serious. Thanks Jillian
Plum
Sorry but I would get her checked by a vet it sounds neurological, but hope I'm wrong.
hippy chick
I hope that it isn't anything to serious. I would hate to lose her she is such a character .
pistachio
Hi there - I would also check her eyes. Because their eyes are right on the side of their head - if ones fails them they look pretty wonky walking around trying to get a good view. Mine did this yesterday when she had something stuck in her eye. Hope it sorts out soon
Egluntyne
Sometimes an ear infection or ear mites can send them a bit wonky. I'd take her to the vet for a look see.
sandyhas3chucks
I had one doing something similar, we were waiting for results from Retfords(she wasn't improving as she should and wet poo for some time but was fine right up to the last weekend. So lucky the tests were on way as she was seriously I mean seriously ill by Monday. So ditto ditto ditto Get her to the Vet ASAP oh, she needed meds recommended by retfords 10 days then another course of Baytril, to make a complete recovery
hippy chick
Maureen does seem to be getting worse, although she is still laying and eating as normal. My chick friendly vet is away till Monday. So i think i'm going to take her to the one in Sherburn, there is a vet there that has chucks so hopefully she should know what she is doing. sandyhas3chucks
tbh they mainly give baytril, any antibiotic would be a start for her, so you are doing the right thing. Retfords are really good.
hippy chick
:Well Maureen seems to be much more herself these days. I have been giving her some vitamin E supplement's, as well as limestone flour and ex-bat feed. (I have been lucky to have a decent vet who seems to try everything possible) TBH i don't have a clue what the problem was but she seems ok at the moment. So fingers crossed xx
