3.6m Omlet Chicken Run for sale, Brand New in Boxes, Milton Keynes (MK19)

HI all,

 

Where can I buy a peck a block type toy to keep my chooks amused. I had a ring of seeds tied to a tree in their run and a bloomin squirrel stole it last night by biting through the string!! I got it from the farm that supplied my chooks so was wondering where to buy them from over the net.

I got mine from either Cotswold Chickens or Flytes so Fancy - can't remember which and it cost about £6-7

I bought one at about £6 from my local horsey suppliers and it crumbled and fell apart before I'd even given it to the girls . I haven't bought another one.

I got mine from cotswolds too over the net was £6 and they are rather small I've looked everywhere for a cheaper alternative but the only ones are america so my frind suggested bird feeders cus they're cheaper in the long run

I get mine from here - they're not cheap once p&p is added on, so I tend to buy 2 at a time and they really last.

I use redwings recipe. The kids love making it and its really cheap and you can add waht you want. Its in the recipe section somewhere.

I have tried both the pecka blocks

 

And the seed rings that are made with honey - I found that the rings fell apart quickly and were unbelievably sticky! I only get the pecka blocks once or twice a year and they last for ages.

just tried that recipie for the peck a blocks it worked great and its so cheap! I put some currants, corn and fruit in it and they love it. It's so much cheaper and my boyfriend liked mixing it all together hehe really do that instead of buying the peck a blocks its just easier and cheaper with the same effect!

oooh, I've been meaning to post about this. I usually make my own, because spending 7 quid on one is more than I can cope with - but browsing in millets farm garden centre near Abingdon, Oxon, I found these for £2.50 -

Bargain. I like the fact that it has grit in it too. It's only been in the run for a couple of days - a lot of pecking going on, and doesn't seem to be disappearing too quickly so hopefully it will last. That was my main concern - thought I might end up paying a third of the price and buying them three times more often, but not so far!
