welovemarmite
One of my chickens is a little subdued this evening. THe only way to try and describe it is that she looks constipated. I have checked her over and the only thing i can find is a slightly bald tummy. I cant see that she is egg bound, but thats just because an egg isnt protuding. Any ideas? welovemarmite
as an update hae given her abath and a cuddle. Her bottom looks swollen so I think she is egg bound. She perked up a little and has been put to bed. She has settled in her nesting box, which again makes me think she is egg bound. If she is still like this in the morning I will see if me vets know what to do with chickens...
staceychristie
If She's waddling about, I'd keep her separate, and in darkened area. (Mind you if she's gone to nest ok, you might find an egg). Any runny poos? She can still be egg bound if not protruding. The abdomen will feel lumpy and tight. BE GENTLE, because if it is an egg, you don't want to break it.
