Redwing
We used to have a very good B&Q one in our old house My biggest bit of advice would be to see it working before you buy, some are very noisy!
craftyhunnypie
We have 2. One in the kitchen & one in our bedroom. Absolutely wonderful & I think they were only £29.99 from Focus, with integrated halogen lights. Hubby has replaced the bulbs with L.E.D bulbs. WitchHazel
I was very skeptical about ceiling fans, as most of the ones I had seen were fairly small models that didn't really make much difference. We were on holiday in NZ a while ago and one of the places we rented had these amazing ceiling fans in which realy worked. When we got back to the UK we tried to get them but couldn't, but I did a lot of research into fans and in the end we went for Fantasia. Fantasia is a good make. The fans are well made, the finish is excellent, and there is little wobble at high speed. I have two of their fans (different to the one in your picture) - large models which we found quite startling at first, but they work brilliantly. They are also reversible, which means that you can use them in the winter to circulate warm air too, and the ones we picked are remote operated which helps. You can also replace the blades with a different finish for a change and some of the blade sets are reversible giving you a choice of wo finished for one set of blades. It's definitely worth spending extra and getting a really good quality fan as they tend to work better and wobble less than the cheaper versions. Make sure you check out the Fantasia (or supplier) website to ensure the fan blades are the right size for the room: too small and they won't do the job they are designed for. We went to a local shop to look at the range of fans first, so we knew exactly how big our fan was going to be. We were also able to look at the range of finishes and the range of blade finishes to make sure we got something right for our home. When we bought the hsecond fan I used an online supplier, it cost a lot less and the service was excellent. PM me if you would like the web address. Hope that helps Hazel
Geoid
Im a great fan of ceilings, they keep the rain off you, allows you to build another floor on your house, you can hang stuff from them, you can put lights in them. Ceilings are brilliant.

Snowy
I don't know what make ours is, but we were lucky it is very quiet. And it was bliss last night - left it on all night, otherwise I would not have been able to sleep!
quickcluck
We have a great one that came from B&Q. Chrome middle with a light, opaque blades, so it's not even obvious when you walk into the room, and it's SILENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus very helpful remote control!
