Yes I often wonder what sort of world we live in where people in such turmoil have nowhere to turn.

But there is worse.......... One of DHs MR team mates lost both her parents, shot yesterday.

Horrible horrible, I am in tears.

 

I'm so sorry OSH, so, so shocking. I think coming from sprawling suburbia you forget that people in small communities often all know each other.

 

I felt wretched when my ES's friend was killed but this is just so awful, it doesn't bare thinking about the misery that must be being felt up there. You all have my sympathy.

The world stands still at times like this. Man's inhumanity to man never ceases to shock me.

 

Thinking of all in Cumbria at the moment, you have had some dreaful times up there recently.

 

OSH, I hope that your OH finds nothing and soon home, with no more bad news.

 

It seems that it all started with an arguement about a will My OH is a solicitor and he sees petty arguements all the time, and he mainly deals with business clients, not personal stuff. Human life is more valuable than anything else.

Even if the gun laws were reassessed, I doubt it would do much, the UK has the strictest gun laws in the whole world and a persons mental state can change in a few hours.

It leaves you feeling numb doesn't it. I can't imagine what went on the gunman's mind and I can't begin to understand the devastation all those poor innocent families are going through, not to mention the awful waste of lives cut short. Seeing the shock of some of the rescue teams yesterday coming upon the bodies in real time was such a jolt, the graphic injuries.

 

OSH - I do hope your OH manages to cope; I expect the next few days and weeks will be harder for him as he tries to compute. Take care of yourself too - if you have time, go and say hello to a bee on a flower in the sun.
