knackered
Hi, I finally made the decision and ordered myself a purple eglu As i'll be asking hubby to make an Eglu table i wanted to get him to make extra levels and play things for the girls. At the moment their fave place is on the roof of the wooden coop (scrubbing chicken poo of a felt roof was the turning point in deciding to get a plastic coop) so they like to be high. Anyone got any photos of the inside of their WIR with different levels - or do you know of any pics online? Thanks
Ain't Nobody Here
There's a thread of photos here. Not of interiors, really, but you should be able to see them OK. I've got loads of levels, branches etc, in my run . Have a look at my signature link.
knackered
thank you - your run is exactly what i was looking for - will get hubby to look at your photos. Is the floor of your run part slabbed and then the non slabbed part covered in hemp bedding? do you find that works? i can't decide whether to slab the whole lot or just round the edges as extra fox protection. Does the non slabbed bit get clean enough? Do you add that stalosan F stuff to your bedding? Sorry, lots of questions.
Ain't Nobody Here
Yes, there are just slabs round the edge for the run to sit on (and for a path too). I use Easibed in the run which works really well. If your run has a roof, the bedding stays really dry and the poos just dry up and disappear. I rake off the top few inches every few months, put Stalosan F down then new bedding. The perches etc take a bit of cleaning but as they don't use the eglu except to lay, I don't have to clean that! I scrub them with hot water and Ecover washing up liquid, then wipe them down with Poultry Shield. A sprinkle of Stalosan and it's fresh and lovely again (till they poo all over it again ) .
