Chicken boarders

Had four hybrids last september, two pure breds two weeks ago and now i want more, have plans for hubbie to extend our walk in run..... is there no cure for me....

I remember when I joined this forum I said I was getting 3 hens and then planned to get through this years winter and if it went well I may get more. Everyone laughed at me.

 

That was in March. I now have 6 hens and have plans for another 3 and the summer's not even really here yet. Who knows how many I'll end up with. Now I know why they laughed.

 

My problem is there are so many different breeds of hens. They are really therapeutic.

i know i just sat in the garden this morning watching them all wandering around. I love sitting and cuddling them if they are in the mood. Trouble is all the ones i want are hard not so common (well i think so - go see dream 5 chickens....) i was thinking of a second run and having bantams in that one, but hubbie wasnts one massive run and whilst he is agreeing to more chickens i think i will let him have his way!!

Tell me about it, I started with 2 hens two years ago. Now I have a few more than that I used to get so excited about eggs everyday, now I groan and think 'not another one!'

We've spent the last 2 days knocking down our old front wall. To use up some of the bricks , I spent today paving the area behind the shed. When it was finished my first thought was ' wow, this would be an ideal place for a broody coop, or maybe a small coop with bantams'.

I want a white one (sussex breed) I think its called like on mayo ad - OH said NO NO NO - no room. we will see- I think we could fit another Eglu in - say in a year when I've worked on my whingeing technique. Men hate whingey women
