Chicken boarders

Hi,

 

I have a rescue ex-batt (1 of 4) who has been off colour for a few days. She is eating ok but seems to be drinking quite a bit of water. She stopped laying a few months ago and her abdomen seems soft and not distended. Her comb is darker than normal and quite floppy. I just went to put them to bed and when I lifted her up, some water came out of her mouth. As I pressed her crop, more came out so I turned her and emptied it and she seemed a lottle more comfortable afterwards.

She is fed on layers mash and they have calcium, apple cider vinegar and life-guard in their water. The others all seem fine and perky.

Any advice or tips gratefully received!

Was the stuff that came out of her crop clear or dark and smelly?

 

Has she been wormed recently?

The liquid was clear, almost like it was just water.

She was last wormed a few months ago - I usually use Verm-x (i think it is called!) but have always been concerned that they dont get an even dosage.

Often copious drinking can be a sign of a kidney problem, and they do tend to slosh it back up again.

 

I'd be inclined to take her to a vet, to rule this out, and I'd consider worming her with Flubenvet.

Thank you - I live in Banbury, do you know anywhere I can get hold of flubenvet as I understand it is a POM?

I got mine by doing a google search and then chose the cheapest with free P&P I think
