i got my (cube purple) at begining of feb and i noticed that the nesting box bedding was wet after heavy rain, and that there was also water under the right hand poo tray (which froze in in the colder weather making it impossible to slide it out and empty).

Omlet sent out a new cube today which a nice driver Angus put up and we tested this one too with a watering can and this leaked too in the same places as my origional

My friend had her brand new cube on fri 11th june and hers leaks even worse when tested with a watering can :?

are they all the same?

please get your watering cans out and test them. These all have a common leak of leaking in the back left corner and running into the bottom of the nesting box, and in the back right corner and leaking under the right poo tray. My friends leaks in all 4 corners and through the egg port door and it was installed by an omlet driver (which my 2 were too)

please please check them out and vote

So sorry to hear of you damp situation, my second hand cube started to leak but is now dry once I replaced the rubber channels as the old ones had perished. You might want to check the positioning of yours, it could be the problem other than that is it level? Let us know how you get on. Your chickens should be cosy and dry after you spent such a lot of money, very frustrating!

Hi,

Mine is brand new (Friday), on level ground, was built on-site by Omlet staff and it leaks from every corner and literally POURS through the egg port. Not a nice place for my baby hens to be in a typical English rain storm...

That's not right at all, contact Omlet asap ....

Hi and thanks,

I have done already, thanks. I will await a response to the email I sent (been more than a day now) and a suitable response to my follow-up phone call. Glad that yours doesn't leak. Did you test it with a watering can as prof suggested? I was horrified when mine did! I thought prof's was a one-off incident. The problem is that there is nothing comparable on the market, and nothing else is suitable for the space I have. I hope that they sort it our quickly. I have two ten-week old pure breeds in it and they have to stay in there for at least another 6-8 weeks...

My Eglu is amazing. No problems with that.

yes Egluntyne. I told omlet right away and have been corresponding with them since the begining of feb when i bought it. They eventually sent me a new one yesterday and the omlet guy, Angus, put it up and we tested it with a watering can but unfortunately that one leaked too :?:(

The directors are going to phone me today so i am hoping that they will fix it or send me one which doesnt leak. I am wondering if this leaking problem is common, or if i am simply very unlucky :(

I will have to go and check mine at weekend when I have bit more time to play. But. When I had mine installed yesterday the Omlet driver couldnt get it to fit together properly, One of the side panels was a different size to the other side (about 1/2 inch). The driver did say that they would get another sorted out and bring it down to install. I was expecting a phone call today, but that didnt materilise. I hope that is not the shape of things to come. So far my dealing with Omlet have all been good. And long may that last. SPecialy when your spend over £700 on a product.

So did they give you any explanation why yours should have leaked? These cubes must be made from the same production line moulds so it sounds like there's an integral design fault somewhere along the line. :?

Hi Shelley. I got no explanation as to why these cubes leaked.:?

I just know that mine, my replacement cube, and my friends cube all leak in common places as mentioned previously, and that if you pour water on their roofs with a watering can you can clearly see that happening. I am hoping that we are simply unlucky and that we will get non leaking cubes on the delivery on the 8th july.

Hi taz1967. I hope your cube is ok and doesnt leak when you test it out. I would contact omlet if you have any problems asap and if you dont receive returned phone calls i urge you to call them. You dont want to be waiting for a result for as long as i have :? i was told months ago that the cubes were preassembled before delivery......so im not sure how this has happened.

Could this be an age thing, my cube is a few years old and doesn't leak, could it be something has changed with the new ones?

I must say I have had protracted dealings with Omlet and it's customer services, which really has made me think twice about ordering - I had hoped they might have got their act together :( Good luck and keep at it. The cube shouldn't leak especially at the price they are marketed at, there are lots of other coops that don't leak and are cheaper!
