Bexibex
Hi everyone I got my new Eglu classic today. I was so excited all day at work and when I got home, couldn't wait to get it out of its box and have a play with it. After really building myself up, I felt, well....disappointed. I love it, don't get me wrong but I have a couple of concerns and hoped people might be able to help. Firstly, the egg hatch - it opens fine but then you put it back on and it is really wobbly, it doesn't fit snuggly at all and then it is really to unlock again. The door also seems quite wobbly when it is shut and not as secure as I thought it would be. Is this normal?
Tutti Frutti
I'd ring them in the morning - not sure about the door but the egg-port door doesn't sound right. Mine snap shut with a solid clunk once the handle gets to 12 o'clock... and then hardly move at all
Lewis
Ditto with the egg port door - mine clicks shut and doesn't wobble
chickenlittles
I posted exactly the same concerns here last week, and replies were that this wasn't right. Got my chickens on the 8th June and I too have a very loose door that is easy to open. Emailed Omlet twice, rang them up, sent pics when asked and still no reply. Very poor show, and I've resorted to putting a heavy sun lounger on top! Another phone call tomorrow by the looks of it, I'll let you know if I have any reply. Bexibex
Yes, please do let me know if you hear from them. I'm a bit worried now - I assumed that Omlet would have excellent customer service. I have been asked to send pictures as well but I think it will be difficult to get the problem across through pictures and also I would have expected them to not question the issue but to just get on and solve it. Maybe I should have got a Chicube....
Redwing
I've owned four Eglus in all and have to say that they all had wobbly eggports and doors, they all shut and locked securely though and have posed no problems, you could move the plastic around in the openings, there is a bit of play there which is normal as far as I know but I could not get either eggport or door open without unclicking the lock on the eggport or lifting the handle on the door so they did their job
Egluntyne
All my Eglus have slightly wobbly egg ports. They are quite secure though.
craftyhunnypie
Yes all ours do too - except the new purple one. They are very secure though. Emma.x

chickenlittles
After a week with no reply from Omlet, I rang on Friday and they are sending me a new door, should arrive Tuesday. I hope it fits OK as once closed I can open the door just with a slight pull, and it also opens past the 'stop', definitely not at all secure. Chickens will be pleased too, I think they're a bit fed up having a sun lounger on top of their coop! Bexibex
Quinomlet- Thank you so much for your help - it is really appreciated. You have acted extremely quickly and provided a service to be proud of. I thank you for taking this forward and for dealing with it so amicably and promptly. I am so excited about my Eglu and my girls when they arrive and this has made my day! I PM'd Quin and he resolved the problem immediately - I am getting a new eggport door delivered on Wednesday this week. Quin has been an absolute star so I would really recommend you get in touch with him directly with any issues or concerns. I will keep you updated when my new bits arrive. Bexibex
I'm glad you got your Eglu sorted. I'm still waiting to get my problem fully sorted but I have to say that Quin has been a star. We have a tried a new egg port but that had the same problem, so he is now sending me a new lid. Really excellent customer service and I am being kept informed every step of the way. I am so excited about getting my eglu set up and ready for my girls. I'm counting down the days till they arrive.
Mercedes55
I got my Eglu yesterday and have spent most of today putting it together, more of that in another post I think However I also find there is some movement on the egg door when it's closed, but I am just assuming that is normal? After all it's just a plastic moulding with a pin to keep it closed so I'm guessing it can't ever be really tight. I'm a bit confused now though
Christian
It isn't ever really tight as far as I am aware. If it was, then I guess with expansion/contraction in the heat and cold, it would jam up? My two have 'give' in the door, but aren't loose.
Bexibex
My new eglu lid arrived and all fits really well. I am so pleased with the service I received from Omlet and especially from Quin. There is slight give in the door but after reading other comments, I am not worried about this. I just can't wait to get my exbats now. I love my
