Bannon
Been reading your tips on keeping chicks in the shade. Our two tend to go under the hen house but this morning I've dug out an old B&D 'Workmate' bench from the back of the shed and put that it the run. With the top of the bench tipped over at 45 degrees I think it should do the trick.
Plum
Good idea. I've put banners from OH work hanging across the run but intend to use greenhouse shading at some point.
Alis girls
Could do with a "keeping chicken owners in the shade " I love the heat but hate the humidty - I never have a prob in Spain or Greece - dont know if its London or other parts of UK. At a time when the personal central heating goes up the creek I feel hot, sticky and grumpy. Anyway enjoy the sun and I will be found under a bush with the hens
